Thanks to everyone who made OR07 a great success! We had 357 conference attendees, and the conference use groups, presentations and poster sessions were a great success. We are looking forward to continuing the discussions started in San Antonio next year in Southampton, UK.

To accommodate busy holiday schedules and travel, the steering committee has decided to extend the early conference registration rate through January 19th. Rooms at the conference hotel are also still available, but please register as soon as possible as the conference block may be withdrawn soon.

The credit card processing system used by the conference registration system will be offline tonight for maintenence from 10pm to 1am CST. Please register early today to ensure that the payment goes through with no difficulties.

Congratulations to Paul Kobulnicky from Youngstown State University -- he is the first winner in the free hotel giveaway promotion! Paul was randomly chosen from among the first 100 registrants for the conference hotel (the Marroitt Rivercenter) for a complimentary stay during the conference. OR07 is pleased to announce the keynote speakers for the general conference. The opening keynote for the general conference will be given by James L. Hilton, Vice President and Chief Information Officer at the University of Virginia. The closing keynote will be given by Tony Hey, Corporate Vice President for Technical Computing at Microsoft. OR07 is offering a special promotion to encourage reservations in the reserved block of conference hotel rooms. After every 100 people make a reservation in the San Antonio Mariott Rivercenter, one name will be randomly drawn to have lodging expenses covered by the conference organizers!
